Winter Photography Contest!

Photographers!

Our good friends over at Hiroshima’s Wide Island View are currently hosting a Winter Photography Contest.  WIV is an online magazine for the greater Hiroshima area, but this contest is nationwide!  You may think to yourself, “Bah, my beloved Ganbatte Times never gives anything away for its ‘contests.’ ”  You would be correct.  The difference between Ganbatte Times and Wide Island View is that the latter gives away real prizes.  Think ¥20,000 worth of prizes.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, you could win prizes, real prizes worth real money, for your photography.  As evidenced by past GTimes articles, the 2010 JET Calendar, and our small but spectacular Flickr pool, Kyoto contains some very talented takers of pictures.  We want to see you lauded and rewarded for the time it took you to learn how to use your fancy cameras.

Here’s another plus: you don’t have to be a JET or a JET alumnus to submit a photo!  Interac, Geos and Peppy Kids Club employees (and anyone who can use both a camera and email), this means you!

If you are interested in this magnificent competition, first make sure you have a sweet picture that was taken within the past six months and clearly features Japan’s all-powerful Winter.  Submission is simple: all you have to do is email your photo and information to wivcontests(at)gmail(dot)com!  Visit this Winter Photography Contest post or click the picture for more details on requirements and submission.

Don’t debate for too long; the contest will end April 1st!
